So its lawyers argue any potential victim could "with reasonable diligence" have known enough long ago to get a case started. The Mirror Group publicly apologised for its part in the scandal in 2014. The publisher says that tabloid voicemail interception has been talked about for at least 20 years. So the fundamental question in this case is when could the alleged victims reasonably have suspected they had been targets of hacking and other illegal snooping into their lives? That legal bar prevents cases being launched years and years late, to prevent unfair and unjust outcomes. Mirror Group News' lawyers say two of the claimants, Nikki Sanderson and Fiona Wightman, have run out of time to sue for damages.Ĭlaims for damages should be brought within six years of the alleged victim knowing what happened.

He cited coverage of a 2015 civil trial in which the publisher was found to have hacked the phones of eight celebrities - but he argued they have now run out of time to sue for damages. He said two of the claimants, Nikki Sanderson and Fiona Wightman, could have brought a claim against the Mirror Group years earlier. Later, Green made the case that "any reasonable person" would have been aware of the phone hacking scandal that shut down the News of the World in 2011. Our legal correspondent Dominic Casciani explained that claims for damages should be brought within six years of the alleged victim knowing what happened. Green argued that the claims before the court in this hearing are essentially out of time - and that they should have been brought earlier. This afternoon we heard from the Mirror Group's lawyer, Andrew Green KC, who said the latest claims are of a "breath-taking level of triviality" and claimants were "smearing" executives by accusing the board of lies to cover up hacking. This was after he alleged on Thursday that such illicit activities were "widespread" and "authorised at the highest level" at the Mirror Group - which has denied using voicemail interception in these cases. The claims have been brought by Prince Harry and three other high-profile claimants, represented by barrister David Sherborne KC. Hope that helps. The third day of the High Court hearing over alleged phone hacking claims against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) has wrapped up. I’ve never used the mirror film, so can’t vouch for it. I called around to glass places near me, but nobody could help. One of the smart mirror tutorials I came across online (can’t find it now) mentioned going to a local plastics place to have their mirror cut. ships from OH, so it came a few days faster. TAP ships from California, so it took about a week each time to get it to New Jersey. The perimeter of the mirror got a bit scratched as I maneuvered it into the frame, but it’s only noticeable from a few inches away. The only downside is that acrylic scratches much more easily.

(It is) I don’t notice any warping/fun-house effect at all. It was a bit more expensive than TAP, but they had a 1/4 in thickness that I hoped would be more stable. So, I bought their acrylic mirror for my big one. The only problem is that the glass gets very expensive very quickly if you need a large mirror. They have some glass mirrors designed for exactly this purpose. On their website, you can buy samples of the various glasses/acrylic they sell. I used for my big MM (used a 37 inch TV). There’s a bit of a fun-house effect as you move around. Both show the MM text very well, but they’re not perfect mirrors. I tried both their 1/8 and 3/16 thickness. I’ve used them for 3 of the MMs I made (the largest were using 24 inch monitors). I’ve found 2 main places that sell the mirrors online. I live in NJ and I’ve built 4 MMs over the last 2 months.
